Highlights from the Town of Center Monthly Board Meeting unapproved minutes of December 8, 2025 located at: https://centerwi.gov/agendas-minutes/
The Center Town Board approved several increases to the town’s fee schedule for 2026, including higher rates for hall rentals and park fees. Additionally, the board moved forward with local land division requests while receiving updates on various road and culvert projects throughout the township.
Municipal Fee Adjustments for 2026
A significant portion of the meeting focused on Resolution #8-2025 regarding the Town Fee Schedule. The Board engaged in a detailed discussion on adjusting costs for town services and rentals to reflect current needs. Following several motions to amend the original resolution, the board unanimously approved the following changes for the upcoming year:
- New Home Park Fee: Increased from $300 to $400.
- Town Hall Rental: Increased from $75 to $100.
- Pavilion Rental: Increased from $25 to $45.
- Special Assessment Information Requests: Increased from $25 to $40.
The Board also discussed the potential implementation of a ball diamond fee, though no specific amount was set during this session.
Land Use and Zoning Decisions
The Board reviewed two Certified Survey Maps (CSM) for land divisions:
- Rock Road Parcel (#040-058800): The request by Jeffrey and Laura Hofacker to split the parcel into two lots was approved (4-0, with Supervisor Hofacker abstaining).
- Willow Brook Court: The board chose to table a request from the Mueller Trust to amend lot lines. The decision to delay was made because no representative was present to answer board questions regarding whether Lot 1 possessed sufficient road frontage.
Infrastructure and Public Works
Public Works Director Tom Brown provided a status update on several town projects. Notably, the Center Valley Road culvert has been completed by Kurt’s Services for $34,000, coming in under the projected budget.
Regarding future projects, MSA Professional Services recommended delaying the Agricultural Road Improvement Program (ARIP) application for Wege Road until 2026 to allow for more data collection from local producers. On Twelve Corners Road, Chairman Timm noted that final work on the culvert and ditch cleaning is on hold until the spring to allow the road to settle properly.
Financial Overview and Administrative Updates
The Board reviewed the town’s financial standing for the period of November 11 to December 8, 2025.
- Monthly Expenses: $133,121
- Monthly Revenue: $81,993
- Current Checking Balance: $461,062
The Clerk-Treasurer reported that property tax bills were mailed the first week of December and noted that reimbursements for ARIP engineering expenses can begin in early 2026. The Board also approved a bartender license for Tanya Lansley and the monthly building permit report.
Public Comment and Community Updates
During the public comment period, Al Kramer highlighted a need for $1.47 million in funding for the next phase of a local watershed grant, urging residents to contact representatives. Additionally, the First Responders reported attending nine calls in November, and the Fire Department reminded the board of their upcoming holiday event on December 13.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for January 2026.
