Above all, I am dedicated to ensuring that our police service is guided by the highest ethical standards and remains responsive to the needs of our community.”

Meet Dave Maas:
Growing up in the Fox Valley, Dave found his passion for law enforcement through participation in the Police Explorers youth program, which the Appleton Police Department hosted; following his high school graduation, he attended the University of Wisconsin – Platteville, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice.
Dave began his law enforcement career with the Oshkosh Police Department, where he served in a variety of roles including patrol officer, school resource officer, and patrol supervisor. During this time, he also provided consulting services to various organizations in the Fox Valley, a pursuit that ultimately led him to a rewarding opportunity in healthcare leadership. While this was a stark departure from his law enforcement experience, his strong desire to return to the field could not be ignored.
In 2019, Dave returned to law enforcement, joining the Grand Chute Police Department as a patrol lieutenant. After only a few short months, he was given the opportunity to lead the investigative services section of the Department. In 2021, Dave was selected as the field operations division commander, a role where he currently oversees the provision of uniformed patrol services in the community.
Dave is a graduate of both the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and the Wisconsin Command College program, and he also holds the certified public manager designation from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
