Since we last talked, the Packers have been pretty busy! The team started by cutting their roster down to 53 players from the 90 players they had in training camp! Amongst those 53, the team kept their streak intact of having atleast one undrafted player make the team! This year, that player was Nazir Stackhouse, a defensive lineman out of Georgia! Here we are 2 weeks into the season with Stackhouse already getting action in regular season games! You get players where you get players!
Speaking of getting players, you may have heard, the Pack snagged one more player after the cut down process. Yes, we are talking about the blockbuster trade for Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys! WOW!
Acquiring an incredible talent like Parsons takes a lot of gusto and a lot of investment! Being in position to make a move like this is a real credit to the Packers front office. Very few teams would have the draft capital and salary cap room to make this a reality!
Parsons is quickly looking like an awesome investment. First, his individual play on the field has already been game changing! This is at a time when he is still playing into game shape after being in a hold out in Dallas before the trade. Second, the attention he is drawing on the field is creating opportunities for his teammates to excel! And last, Packer insiders say his positive influence in the locker room is every bit as impactful as his play on the field! Again, I am just left with…WOW!
At the time of the writing of this article, the Pack are off to a 2-0 start! Those wins came against 2 of the top teams in the NFC last season! While things are looking very good in Titletown, there are still opportunities for the Pack to continue to become a more complete team! While the running game has not been bad, it is certainly not where it was last season. When that happens, we are entering ‘LOOK OUT’ mode!
One fan’s opinion., if the team stays healthy, I can see an 8-0 start on the horizon! Go Pack Go!
