I am not a journalist or a reporter! Just a die hard Packer fan! During Packer football season I hope you will enjoy, ‘One Fan’s Opinion’ of our Green and Gold!
3%! Yup! Every season when we ‘sign up’ as fans for the Green and Gold(or any other NFL team) we sign up for a 3% chance of our team being the one of 32 teams that ends up raising the Vince Lombardi Trophy and being called world champions! Mathematically, we are clinging our hearts to a 3% chance of winning it all!
Green Bay Wisconsin has long been regarded as Titletown! That is referring to the 13 World Championships that the Packers have won! With the Packers having been founded in 1919, that means they have chased World Championships for 107 seasons. So, winning 13 titles means they have NOT won the title in 94 out of 107 seasons!
Ready for the real fun number amongst all these numbers! With the 13 titles(and 94 ‘failed seasons’), your Green Bay Packers have won more World Championships than ANY OTHER TEAM in the history of professional football!
Where am I going with all of this? If your entire measurement of the failed or successful season hangs on being crowned a world champion, you are in for many, many miserable seasons. Yes, when the lights go dark for the Pack on most seasons without a title, I am saddened(DEEPLY). In many of those seasons, I feel the team has the players in place to have a legitimate chance! But, once the initial emotion has passed, I can generally look at a lot of fun days I enjoyed watching the Pack with my wife, my sons, and friends and family. Enjoying those times makes for a pretty successful season as well!
The mini look ahead. I currently regard Josh Jacobs, Jordan Love, Christian Watson, and Zach Tom, and Tucker Kraft as the best 5 offensive players on this roster. I believe Micah Parsons, Devonte Wyatt, Xavier McKinney, Evan Williams, and Edgerrin Cooper are the best 5 defensive players on this team. All 10 of these players are either currently in or are entering into the prime of their careers. All 10 of them are under contract entering next season. The future is bright.
