History teaching at its best involves an examination of a multitude of perspectives, access to robust primary sources, and helps engender a sense of empathy with those that have come before us. “Every Veteran Has a Story” fits this perfectly. Students hear firsthand from a diverse group of vets about service in various branches of the US Military in eras from Vietnam to today. It is exactly the type of experience our students need to better understand both the experiences of veterans and the eras they served in.

“Every Veteran Has a Story” provided my students with an honest look at military life and the valuable real-world skills veterans use every day. I especially appreciated the diverse backgrounds of the panelists and seeing how their unique experiences shaped who they are today. Joe Krueger Little Chute High School
Thank you again for the wonderful presentation. It was everything I expected from you and all that participated. The kids brought it up all week. Here is what I came up with for a testimonial.
“The Every Veteran Has a Story program gave our students a rare, honest look at military life through the personal stories of a diverse group of veterans. Hearing directly from service members made history feel real and relevant, sparking conversations that extended well beyond the classroom. It was a powerful experience that resonated with our students.”

As a Retired Marine Corps combat veteran, I share relevant life experiences, choices, and at times the fallout from those choices. In addition, I think it is also important for the youth I serve to see my authentic self. Whether that is sharing a story or making me vulnerable, they tend to walk a little taller after these high value discussions.
Partnering with “Every veteran has a Story” gave our boys a deeper dive into personal stories, choices, outcomes, and ongoing challenges, brought to them by some of the most respected people across the nation, our own military Veterans. The panel was elite; the discussions were of great value, and to celebrate alongside this group was an amazing experience. Our boys raved about this experience for days after, and we look forward to the next visit. RAWHIDE Issac Kemp USMC Retired
