I am not a journalist or a reporter! Just a die hard Packer fan who grew up in Green Bay and have now resided in Grand Chute for about 27 years! During Packer football season I hope you will enjoy, ‘One Fan’s Opinion’ of our Green and Gold!
Here we are in the dog days of August and the boys are back in town for training camp! If you have never been to Green Bay for a training camp practice, I strongly encourage you to sneak up there and take it in! It’s an up close and personal experience watching the coaches relentlessly trying to take the players to the next level! About 90 players are competing for 53 final roster spots! While many of the players appear to be having fun and enjoying putting on a bit of show for us fans, the reality is that the competition is fierce. For many of these men, not nabbing one of those precious 53 roster spots may be the end of their lifelong dream of being a professional football player.
If you have been to a training camp before, here are a couple of intriguing story lines of why you might want to get back up to Titletown and be a bleacher bum for an afternoon!
It’s been 23 years since the Pack drafted a wide receiver in the first round. This year, they did it! The Packers selected Matthew Golden with the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2025 draft held in Green Bay! Golden comes to camp with blazing fast speed and high expectations! In minicamps, he has looked the part! Now, when the pads come on, its time to find out how NFL ready he is!
Marshawn Lloyd is another potential game-changing young man to keep your eyes on! Lloyd was drafted in the 3rd round of 2024 by the Packers and had an absolutely injury riddled rookie season. Some felt that Lloyd was arguably the best running back to come out of college football in 2024. Lloyd appears to be healthy and very anxious to contribute. If Lloyd can become a solid complement to stand out running back Josh Jacobs, LOOK OUT! The Packers could have the best tandem of running backs in the NFL! Bring on football season!
This has been One Fan’s Opinion! Go Pack Go!
