Who We Are
Appleton, WI – Veterans in the Fox Valley have an ally they may not be aware of. Established in February 2017, Vets & Friends is looking to expand its reach in the Fox Valley and beyond. Offering a welcoming sense of camaraderie, and a strong commitment to serving those who have served our country, we believe no veteran should struggle alone. Our mission is to provide assistance, connection, and resources to all veterans in need.
What We Do
- We start by providing a welcoming community hub where veterans can gather, share experiences, and support one another. We share free meals with our fellow veterans and friends, fostering a comfortable and familiar veteran focused environment.
- Helping veterans connect with the experts they need to help them navigate and access benefits, healthcare, housing, and employment resources.
Why We Do It
Veterans face unique challenges after their military service, from adjusting to civilian life to dealing with financial instability, housing insecurity, and mental health struggles. Understanding spaces where veterans can connect with one another helps facilitate the kind of fellowship and support system that is often difficult to find outside of military service.
Expanding Our Reach
While we are excited to serve the greater Fox Valley region, our vision is to extend our impact beyond this area. Partnering with like-minded local businesses, philanthropists, and volunteers, we can continue to build this critical network of support for veterans across Wisconsin.
