Everyone deserves a happy place, a spot where they can unwind, connect, and simply enjoy life. For me, that place is the Mad Apple Burger and Billiard Company. Four years ago, I visited with my family, and the moment I saw all the pool tables, I knew this might be it. Turns out, I was right.
Mad Apple isn’t just about billiards (though they’ve got plenty of that!). Their food is incredible—everything is made from scratch, and it shows. Whether you’re a beginner or an elite player, they have a pool league for everyone. But my love for billiards grew even deeper when I discovered their youth league, run by two phenomenal players and coaches, Kendal and Mason Koch. They’ve created an amazing program that welcomes kids into the game, teaching skills, confidence, and sportsmanship. Now every chance we can get on a Sunday my grandkids and I start with the youth league and often stay for the weekly Sunday tournament. It’s a joy seeing them develop their love for billiards just like I have.
What makes Mad Apple even more special is their commitment to the community. For the past six years, Kendal and Mason have partnered with Kimberly High School to teach a class called Lifetime Sports. Through three sessions each semester, they introduce around 60 students to pool mechanics and different billiards games. It’s inspiring to see high schoolers dive into a sport that teaches patience, focus, and strategy.
For anyone looking to elevate their game, Mad Apple offers lessons that won’t disappoint. They also have a pro shop stocked with everything you need, from cues to accessories. Dreaming of a custom game room? They can help design it, too.
Even though we drive about an hour to get there, it’s always worth it. The warm atmosphere, the amazing food, and the friendly community make it a place we’ll never stop visiting. If you’re looking for your happy place, stop by the Mad Apple Burger and Billiard Company. Check out their website but trust me—nothing beats experiencing it for yourself. Grab a bite, shoot some pool, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll find your happy place too.
