The month of March is prime time of basketball. High school girls will be first with the conclusion of their state tournament on March 13, 14, and 15 at the Resch Center – Green Bay. Teams from Kimberly and Hortonville will be factors in deciding who gets the golden ball as champs.
High School boys will follow – the following Thursday, Friday and Saturday (March 20, 21, and 22) at the Kohl Center in Madison, to determine the champs in their tournament.
My favorite sporting event begins March 16th with selection for the NCAA College Tournament Teams. The men’s and women’s 68 team tournaments begin the following Tuesday, March 18th, and continue for 3 weekends to determine the ultimate winner for the year. I like to get a burger in a sports bar on Thursday the 20th and Friday the 21st to watch the games from all the NCAA sites and the high school boys’ tournament. (No such thing as too much of a good thing!) Truth is – I am the only one in my house that can watch basketball from morning to past midnight and not label it as an obsession.
