Wisconsin International Raceway, the historic facility just outside of Kaukauna, is poised to host another huge season of stock car and drag racing action in 2025 under the leadership of owners Dan and Ginger Van Daalwyk.
The largest event of the season, and one that has put Wisconsin International Raceway on the map, is the Eve of Destruction. This year the event is scheduled for Friday, September 5 – one week after racing at the oval track has concluded.
For those who have yet to witness, the Eve of Destruction is a wild event full of thrills and spills. It features motorcycle stunt shows, stunts by professional daredevils, and wild and crazy stock car events. The two most popular events are the school bus Figure 8 and trailer race of destruction. Tickets consistently sell out for this event, so it is best to get them in advance once they are available at www.wirmotorsports.com.

The oval track season is scheduled to open the weekend of May 17 when the TUNDRA Super Late Model Series comes to town. Last season Minnesota teenager Ty Fredrickson outgunned former track Champion Dalton Zehr in a thrilling event. Fredrickson, who had never raced at WIR before, then went on to win the TUNDRA season Championship. He also collected the prestigious Kulwicki Driver Development Program Championship, besting drivers from across the country. The program honors the late Alan Kulwicki and rewards drivers based on their on-track results as well as their charitable contributions away from racing action.
This season TUNDRA and WIR are looking to enhance the event to a higher level. Fredrickson is expected to return as well as a host of top contenders from around the Midwest who will face off against the top weekly competitors.
Weekly Fox River Racing Club action fires-up on Thursday, May 22. Now entering its 51st season, the FRRC sanctions Thursday Night racing from the opener in May through August. Each Thursday has a full card of action with the Super Late Models, Late Models, Super Stocks, Wisconsin Sport Trucks, Sizzlin’ 4s, and Figure 8s. The WIR ¼-Mile Late Models run a partial Thursday schedule and will be included in the season-opening event.
