The seasons are turning at the Community First Champion Center, Grand Chute’s very own indoor youth sports facility. Club volleyball season is over halfway through, capped off on July 14-16 with the Prep Dig Sizzle. In mid-February, the facility took out the Seasonal Ice Rink once again, bringing back in 5 more volleyball courts just in time for the Prep Dig Champions Cup (March 1-2). Ninety-nine Girls teams battled it out across the facility’s 13 courts over that weekend for the chance at a national bid.
Meanwhile, AAU basketball season is just kicking off for 2025. The Community First Champion Center hosted over 3,250 basketball teams and over 30,500 players throughout 2024 for weekend tournaments, showcases, and events. As a 164,000 sq. ft. facility with 8 courts, the Community First Champion Center has become the premier destination for indoor court sports and events in the Midwest.
Seven of the upcoming weekend tournaments/showcases in April-July will be Prep Hoops events, including the Midwest Showdown (April 4-6) and the Prep Hoops Wisconsin State Tournament (May 30-June 1). In June, the NCAA live periods for scholastic teams will once again take place at the Community First Champion Center’s 8 courts. These weekend tournaments allow WIAA high school players to showcase their skills in front of NCAA coaches over a 2–3-day span. The Girls’ “Summer Slam” will be June 12-13, and the Boys’ “June Jam” is June 20-22. Players will be looking to ball out in front of these coaches, so the energy will be high!
Several local AAU clubs also practice at the Champion Center on weekday nights, including Wisconsin Blaze, All Wisconsin, Wisconsin Blizzard, and Wisconsin Legends. Between these clubs and more, the Community First Champion Center was the location for over 65 teams’ practices each week during the months of April and May in 2024.
Whether it be AAU basketball tournaments, high school showcases, or club practices, the basketball season is arriving in Grand Chute. The Community First Champion Center is the home to many of the Midwest’s best youth basketball events of 2025, which is a welcoming sight for the Town of Grand Chute.
