By Grace’s dad
January 17, 2025
Last month I introduced my best buddy to the Grand Chute residents.
With Valentine’s Day approaching fast, I want to further add to the humorous side of Grace I discussed last month. It was Cindy and my 29th wedding anniversary (November 15, 2015) when I began to understand the depth of Grace’s wit (and what I created). We were pressing apples and Grace was helping. I asked her if she knew it was mom and dad’s wedding anniversary. She quipped back, “Happy misery.” I thought she would be the first Down Syndrome stand-up comic in Vegas. My plans changed. Why?
God is sovereign. He works everything out for those who believe. However, we can never use that fact as our excuse. After the fact, I know God had a purpose in Grace’s death. However, during that moment, I let my guard down. Specifically, when “Covid” came on the scene, I thought I did the prudent thing by preparing my family. We began following the FLCCC (Front Line Covid Critical Care) doctor’s protocol.
Today, after 4000 hours of research, I see this choice as the ‘lesser of two evils’ trap. The evil “Covid” side wanted everyone to take the jab. The less evil “good” side had us using Ivermectin, vitamins, and monitor oxygen saturation.
Why were we monitoring Grace’s oxygen saturation? Because fear motivated me to follow the FLCCC (man) instead of following God. Grace would be alive today if I had not let fear influence me to take her to the hospital on October 6 because of an 88% oxygen saturation. God did not give us a spirit of fear (1 Timothy 1:7).
I learned of this trap in my early walk. Specifically, 30 years ago a pastor taught me there are always two mistakes we can make relative to our preparations: 1) failure to prepare; and 2) relying on our preparations. We rely on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Now I know the importance of that teaching.
This is one of the few reasons my consistent message is one of repentance. By not trusting God, I no longer have my best buddy’s unconditional love to come home to. Bigger picture, our country got to this point by not trusting God. The only way out of this mess is repentance. Newsflash: A new king is not the answer (see 1 Samuel 8).
On October 13, 2021, Grace’s life was cut short by medical “professionals.” If you ever wondered who the person behind the local billboard campaign is, you are getting a glimpse. Grace was from the Town of Freedom. Since her death, God has opened up countless doors to help save others’ lives. One of those doors is a three-week jury trial, scheduled to begin on June 2, 2025, in Outagamie County.
I’ll be writing more about what I’ve learned, since Grace’s death, in upcoming issues. Stay tuned.
