Its here! It’s really here! At the time this column hits print our 2026 Packer Season will finally be here!
You know what the new season comes with? It comes with our big predictions! I mean, why wouldn’t we have the Nostradamus like ability to predict exactly what will transpire for a team that we have no direct impact on!
Let’s take stock of what we have for ‘data’ to make our big prognostications!
– Free Agency /Off Season Trades
Gone are Quay Walker, Romeo Dobbs, Rasheed Walker, and Elgton Jenkins, Rashan Gary, and Malik Willis
Additions include Javon Hargrave, Benjamin St-Juste, Skyy Moore, and Zaire Franklin
The net of these losses and signings…the Packers had the resources to sign any of the players they let walk. The team felt these players were replaceable.
The additions are strategic veteran moves to fill short term needs.
– The Draft
The Packers highest draft pick is cornerback Brandon Cisse. Early returns say he looks the part and the stage does not appear to be to big for him.
– Player Development
The team has many players that are poised for 2nd or 3rd year leaps in what they can contribute. Among these are RB Marshawn Lloyd, defensive linemen Barryn Sorrell and Lukas VanNess, WR Matthew Golden, safeties Javon Bullard and Evan Williams, and offensive lineman Jordan Morgan to name a few! If the team is making a serious playoff run this season, this is where the jump will come from.
Okay, enough filibuster! Here comes this One Fan’s Opinion of the 2026 season!
Prediction 1. The Packers get Micah Parsons back in week 6 vs. the Cowboys! Prior to that, they muscle out 3-2 .
Prediction 2. The Pack rattles off 5 wins with Micah’s return!
Prediction 3. The Pack goes 4-3 to close out the season, finish with a 12-5 record and win the division!
Prediction 4. The Packers are healthy and make a deep run in the the playoffs including thrilling wins at Lambeau Field!
Well Chris? SuperBowl bound? Sorry friends, not touching that with a 10 foot pole. Predicting that is the karma equivalent of talking about a baseball pitcher’s potential no hitter midway into the game!
Bottom line is this. The team did not have major player losses this offseason. The player additions need to contribute but are not the linch pins to a successful season. The upside of the 2nd and 3rd year guys described above could be outstanding! If that happens, I like our chances!
