Town of Grand Chute Adopts Housing Study
In 2025, the Town of Grand Chute contracted with RDG Planning & Design to prepare a comprehensive Housing
Study to evaluate the current housing market and identify strategies to address both short and long-term housing
needs in the community. The Housing Study provides Town staff, the Plan Commission, and the Town Board with
valuable insight into local housing conditions, key market trends, and factors influencing housing development and
affordability. The document includes detailed data analysis and forecasts future housing needs by housing type and
demographic group. These findings will guide future planning efforts, inform policy decisions, and help encourage
positive private investment within the Town.

Community Engagement
As part of the planning process, numerous strategies were utilized to facilitate public participation to provide input
that helped guide development of the study. These strategies included public surveys, listening sessions/workshops,
and targeted stakeholder interviews. Additionally, a Technical Committee comprised of a variety of key stakeholders
was established to help provide guidance and feedback during development of the Housing Study.

Key Findings
One of the primary findings of the study indicates that approximately 2,100 new housing units will be needed in
Grand Chute by 2036 to meet projected demand. This equates to an average of 195 new owner-occupied and rental
units annually.

To address this need, the Housing Study outlines specific goals and strategic action steps, including:

Expanding the supply of development ready land to promote efficient growth

Diversifying housing types and price points

Preserving existing housing stock in strategic neighborhood areas

Prioritizing reuse and redevelopment projects that include housing components

Approving projects that align with established housing goals

Adoption Process
The final draft of the Housing Study was posted for public review on the Town of Grand Chute official website in
early 2026. The Plan Commission reviewed the document on February 3, 2026, and recommended approval, with
formal adoption of the Housing Study by the Town Board on February 17, 2026.
